The approach
Mrs. Kaufman uses an inclusive cultural lens to understand how children develop and function. As she provides assessment, consultation, and training services to students, schools, and districts, she considers how the various settings, socioeconomic factors, and experiences of students impact their current functioning and progress. Her assessments provide detailed information regarding the whole child, and her consultation and training services help parents and school staff identify systems and strategies that promote academic, social, and behavioral well-being.
The ultimate goal of each assessment is to understand a child’s strengths and weaknesses and determine how to address the areas of needs while capitalizing on the areas of strength. Any relevant diagnoses, including dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, ADHD, mood or anxiety disorders, cognitive delays, autism spectrum disorders, or other disorders are made alongside recommendations for targeted strategies to support each child.
